Wonderful 6.4 mile hike on the Overmountain Victory trail and the AT to a very unique Scottish-like terrain on Yellow Mountain bald.
Beautiful loop hike enjoying 360 bald views off the Blue Ridge Parkway, summiting five 6000′ peaks from Art Loeb and Sam Knob trails.
Quick 5 minute walk to 50′ Elk River Falls, but can be combined with 100′ Jones Falls and 35′ Splash Dam Falls for a 5.5 mile hike on the AT.
While Indian Grave Gap is most well known for the hike on the AT up to Beauty Spot, there’s more to explore in the other direction that deserves a visit. If you want the views of Beauty Spot, but want complete seclusion, this is the hike for you.
Little Rock Knob is Andy’s favorite local hike. It’s a 4.5 mile roundtrip hike on the Appalachian Trail leading to a rocky overlook of the valley below.
